It appears that April is a busy month of hiring at Umbrella!
This month we celebrate the work anniversaries of many wonderful Umbrella staff.
Dottie.
On April 10 in 2017, Dottie joined Umbrella as a casual for ICMT and later added SURF,
Transitional Housing and the Gratitude Group to her list of skills.
Dottie brings her warmth and approachability to her work with clients and she has the most infectious laugh!

Zack.
Zack joined us exactly one year ago today.
Not knowing what COVID and the Topaz Park encampment was going to lead to,
Zack took a leap of faith and joined the team that eventually led him to work at the arena, hotels and now he is a co-faciliator of the Behavioural Addiction Group every Thursday evening.
Congratulations on your one year with Umbrella!
Brae.
Brae joined Umbrella on April 20, 2020.
Like Zack, she joined the Topaz Park crew and helped transition many of the campers over to the Arena and she continues to work at the Comfort Inn one day a week and she co-hosts the Rainbow Group on Tuesday evenings.
Staff love working with Brae; she brings humour, compassion and authenticity to her work and clients appreciate her honesty.
Happy one year Brae!
Emmett.
Emmett joined Umbrella the same day as Brae, April 20, 2020 and has been a superstar since the day he started.
Working at Topaz Park, the Arena, Travel Lodge and currently at the Comfort Inn,
Emmett continues to be a passionate advocate for those he works with.
Emmett also co-faciliates the Behavioural Addictions Group on Thursdays with Zack,
if you haven’t checked it out yet, you should!
This is a powerful group led by two amazing peers.
Terry.
Terry joined us on April 8, 2015.
Terry was part of the package when we took over Foundation House and what a great addition he has become.
Terry brings his kind and gentle spirit to Umbrella as our family counsellor,
and he supervises our practicum students that are completing their Masters Degree.
Terry has truly been a gift to the families he supports and we are grateful to have him on our team.
