Today, some of the Umbrella team spent the afternoon learning about HEP C.
Daryl Luster, Peer Advocate and Mentor for HEP C based out of Vancouver, joined the team to share about his own journey, misconceptions, stigma, prevention and treatment.
The Umbrella staff learned the testing process and how to support clients that may want to get tested, are worried or just want to understand more.
HEP C is completely curable and the treatment is a relatively quick, with low to no side effects and is very successful.
The staff found Daryl interactive, conversational and engaging. Everyone really enjoyed his presentation.
